The Rainwater Construction Company recently completed 30,000 square-feet of new construction for Innovative Metals Company (IMETCO), which will provide the additional manufacturing and warehouse space to support the company’s strategic growth objectives. As a manufacturer of architectural metals, IMETCO wanted to showcase their product offerings in this build, including IMETCO metal roof and wall panels. The project, which included 750 square feet of office space and 29,250 square feet of warehouse and production space, was built within budget in just twelve months despite its technical complexity, site limitations, and weather constraints.
Some of the challenges that Rainwater confronted over the course of the build included poor soil conditions that required a deep foundation design. The foundation phase of the project needed to be precise, as the roll-forming equipment in the manufacturing building requires a super-flat slab on grade. The Rainwater engineering team developed a cost-effective deep foundation design to properly support the new buildings, all while managing additional challenges in the earthwork phase caused by the extreme winter rains of Northern Georgia.
As IMETCO’s business continues to evolve, this additional manufacturing, warehousing and office space will support their growth and help them deliver the high-quality architectural metal components for which they are known.
“IMETCO is incredibly pleased with our new construction. The site’s poor soil conditions and the challenges brought on by the heavy rains required Rainwater to competently problem solve in order to achieve the flat foundation grade we need for our production equipment.
Despite the level of technical complexity and innovation required for this aspect of the build, Rainwater delivered exactly what we needed to support our current growth and our business objectives moving forward. It was a great partnership, the build was completed on time and on budget, and we look forward to working with Rainwater on future projects.”
